Tahoe Lake Elementary issued the following announcement on Nov. 13
You’ve likely heard in the news that cases of COVID-19 are rising in our counties, our state, and across the county. While cases of COVID-19 exist, the case rate in our schools remains low. (Click here for TTUSD’s COVID Dashboard.)
On Tuesday, Placer County moved back to the red tier in the State’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” and there is a strong chance that Placer County could move to the purple tier in the next week or two.
What does this mean for TTUSD?
- We can remain open as long as our case rates don’t rise within our schools.
- An individual school site would close for distance learning if at 5%+ of the student body and staff are diagnosed with COVID-19 within a 14-day period.
- Our school district will close if a quarter of its schools have been closed due to positive COVID-19 cases within two weeks.
If you do plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, the CDC recommends the following to make your celebration safer:
- Wear a mask
- Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
